March 2006

Hello, and thanks for checking in.

We mailed AGW Vol 12 No 1 a few weeks ago, and it's a good one. This issue features Rick Allred's arrangement and recording of Saint Louis Blues(based on Chet Atkins' classic 1950's recording), and some great licks by Chet and Merle from the Atkins-Travis Traveling Show album. There's also a mini-workshop on High String Guitar, and some hot Tele-style licks in this installment of Hot Licks and Harmonics. Finally, there's Rick Foster's arrangement and recording of the hymn Nothing But the Blood of Jesus. (If you're not a subscriber yet, be sure to check the AGW page while you're here.)

Looking for Atkins and Reed LPs to complete your collection? I am selling some duplicate 33 1/3 LPs from my personal collection. You'll find a list of albums here.

The annual CAAS convention will be held in Nashville this July. For more info and a registration form (pdf format), go to: http://misterguitar.com/caas/index.html Hope to see you there!

Well, it's time to go, so as Jethro Burns used to say, "See you in the future, or see you in the pasture."

Until next itme,
